Physical Education
Kindergarten children enrolled in the Academic-day Early Childhood Program take part in gymnastics and swimming at the nearby YMCA Aquatic Center and Gymnasium Center. A non-competitive approach is taken in all of the physical education activities.
Children enrolled in the Elementary Program participate in a rotating program of swimming, sports, Tae Kwon Do, gymnastics and adventure programs. Middle school students participate in different sporting programs during their cycles including skating, kayaking, tennis, skiing and snowboarding.
The Harborlight Riptide – Athletics at Harborlight: The Harborlight Athletic Program is our Montessori School’s interscholastic sports program. The teams play soccer and basketball, flag football, and more sports will be added as the athletic program grows. We schedule games with other schools that share our philosphical approach to sports and against whom we are evenly matched. Our students play in the Montessori Athletic Conference (The M.A.C.).
