10/25/2011: David Hursty has agreed to extend his term with Harborlight through the next Academic Year (AY 2012-2013) and the Harborlight Trustees have temporarily suspended the activities of the Search Committee. Head Search Update

5/19/11: Harborlight’s Board of Directors and the Harborlight Parent Association is hosting a Community Welcome for David Hursty on Tuesday, May 24th from 9 to 10 am in the Library/Media Center. Meet and Greet-David Hursty.

4/18/11: Interim Head of School for Academic Year 2011-2012 Announced – Harborlight’s Board of Trustees met on April 14th, voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Search Committee, and appointed David Hursty to be Interim Head of School for 2011-2012. 2/2/11: Progress on the transition of new leadership at Harborlight is continuing. The Board of Trustees selected the Search Committee Co-Chairs at its most recent meeting. Stefanie Landgren, a member of the Board of Trustees and former Harborlight teacher, will join Laurie Johnson, parent of a Harborlight student, in leading the Search Committee.

The primary responsibilities of the Search Committee are related to the selection of the Head of School for Academic Year 2012-2013. (See the FAQ “What does the Search Committee do” for more details.) Other members of the Search Committee have yet to be selected although the Board will begin work on that very soon. In the meantime, the two Co-Chairs will join the Board Officers in forming the Interim Head Search Committee which is partnering with our consultants to identify the Interim Head of School for Academic Year 2011-2012.
